Hotel by Beldi is part of the Beldi Country Club, a stunning oasis of calm a mere 10 minutes from the city. Graciously maximising accessibility for those unable – or not wanting – to stay at the hotel, the property includes a public pool and restaurant that you can visit for the day (which I thoroughly recommend) – and you can find out more here!

The hotel itself comprises 38 rooms and suites set in 14 hectares, surrounded by fields of roses and olive groves, and built to resemble a traditional Berber village. As such, it feels a million miles from the mayhem of Marrakech and – almost – life in general.

Rooms are simply and tastefully furnished, seemingly all with lovely big bathrooms and many with private terraces (some with completely secluded sunbathing areas).

The hotel pool has been really quiet on couple of times I’ve stayed there (so absolutely no shortage of beds), but if it does get a bit too quiet, you can always head over to the public side if you prefer. There is a tennis court (I’ve certainly not used it!) and ‘cinema’ as well, that I think you can hire (I say cinema, but I recall it was more like a converted bedroom with a big screen and lots of beanbags – very useful in winter, I would imagine).
The main lunchtime restaurant is over on the public side, but if you either a) want a lighter lunch, or b) want to steer clear of the riff raff(!), there’s a lunch/pool menu available, and you can pretty much eat wherever you want. In fact, in the evening, I understand that they will set up a table for you pretty much anywhere, and – as you can probably imagine – it is STUNNING at night (sadly my camera can’t do it justice!).
They host a lot of functions, from weddings to conferences, so I’m not sure what it would be like if you happened to be staying there then (I saw them setting up for a wedding once and – WOW! – it looked amazing! Should I ever succumb to the idea of marriage, this is where I’m doing it!), but seemingly at normal times it’s peace in abundance. So much so that, I would add a little warning, it could be a little boring at night. I’ve only ever stayed there on my own and have needed to be quite stern in requesting they don’t bring my food too quickly as, otherwise, it’s a very long and quiet evening! But I don’t see that really being a problem if you’re with family or friends, just be aware that it’s unlikely to be a wild night!

Rather as I said about the day side, however, this place is gorgeous and stunning, but it’s also quite rustic and natural, so don’t go expecting everything manicured to within an inch of it’s life. Everything isn’t going to be polished and perfect and it would be so much the poorer if it were. True, the service can leave something to be desired (some people get it, some don’t, welcome to Morocco!), but if anywhere can make you take a step back, it’s here!
The room rate varies according to season, and I understand that at times they have a minimum stay requirement, but latest on the website is that rooms range between 2,100dh (£175) and 2,500dh (£210) per night, for two people including breakfast.
